Cinco de Mayo

Not much time for celebrating. I am working on creating more pillowcases for the residents at work. I am working on a barn quilt for my grandson for his second birthday. My does time fly. It seems like he was just born. My daughter is expecting in June and her baby's quilt is waiting to be quilted. I am also working on a community service quilt for my quilt guild. I need to finish a few more projects and work out some new techniques. The outcome will be for a later posting.

You can turn your love of quilting and sewing into messages of comfort, hope and love – for a
foster child, a cancer patient, victims of domestic violence, and others. Every pillowcase can
make a difference in your local community.
The American Patchwork & Quilting One Million Pillowcase Challenge is continuing through
2011 – and they need your help to reach their goal of providing 1,000,000 pillowcases to people
who need to know someone cares. In 2010, over 200,000 pillowcases were recorded on their
website.
Pillowcases are a quick and easy project (and a great way to use up your stash). Even if you’ve
never sewn before, you can make a pillowcase. The challenge website has free patterns and a
how-to video to make it even easier!
Join me and make pillowcases throughout 2011. To find a participating shop, check the counter, download free patterns and watch a video, visit
the One Million Pillowcase Challenge website: www.allpeoplequilt.com/millionpillowcases. My personal goal is 20+ pillowcases.

Pillow cases

I have been busy making pillow cases for friends on my days off. I hope to make at least 20. I am still working away on a quilt for my new grandchild due in June, a quilt for a friend, a wall hanging for another friend and a community service quilt for my quilt guild. I will be demonstrating paper pieced quilt blocks at the next quilt quild meeting and looking for venues to give a shout out about the guild's quilt show in September. Happy quilting.

Still Quilting

I am still quilting. I am working on several quilts at this time. I work on them during my free time, which is few and far between. Check out the pics on my facebook page.

Busy

Summer is here. This is my favorite time to quilt. I am getting ready for the hot days spent indoors near the air conditioning, the quilt shows, and getting ready to quilt for the Sept-December Birthdays and Holidays. I am working on a few projects that were started and never got finished. Now is the time. Have a good summer and I will keep you posted on the projects ahead.

New Marriage. New life.

I got married for the last time on February 22, 2010. I am starting my new life. Which gives me an excuse to start a new quilt for our new life. But really, who needs an excuse, quilting is my lifetime passion, sorry honey. I will be dragging my new husband through quilt shops, quilts shows, but sorry my new love, retreats are my time without you. I love you lots.
